Falmouth Community Television (FCTV) held its Annual Meeting of Members by way of Zoom teleconference on Thursday, May 26th.
FCTV Executive Director/CEO Debra Rogers welcomed the attending members, thanking the FCTV staff, Board of Directors, and Advisory Council, then made a special note of gratitude to FCTV’s two outgoing board members, Treasurer Michael Finegold and Secretary Michael Palmer for their years of service to the nonprofit community media center.

In recognition of Arbor Day, people are making a big difference on the Cape by planting native trees. Working with 30 organizations, the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Falmouth coordinated the planting of fifteen hundred native white oak saplings. We stopped by one Falmouth location to hear more about how the trees planted there will be helping our environment.
On February 15, 2020, at the age of 23 years old, Chase Soares of Falmouth passed away tragically in an auto accident. To honor Chase, his family and friends have created The Team Chase Foundation to provide funding for youth athletic and educational initiatives for underserved communities. Sunday, the 15th, Chase’s birthday, Team Chase held its foundation launch in Falmouth Heights. FCTV was there to learn more about Chase and the foundation that now bears his name.
Summer is right around the corner and with it the start of the new season at the College Light Opera Company. We spoke with Mark Pearson and Joan McDonald from CLOC about the upcoming season and their brand new space. College Light Opera Company’s 54th season will open on June 21st at Highfield Theatre.
The Wounded Warrior Project Soldier Ride, a unique four-day bicycle ride for veterans and wounded service members, returned to Falmouth last week, along with a new feature: Couples! The 10-mile stretch of bike path on the Shining Sea Bikeway allowed a lot of room for the community to cheer the Warriors on as they rode from North Falmouth to Woods Hole and back.
FCTV was honored to have our members staffing the crossing at Depot Avenue in Falmouth.
