FCTV Exclusive: Uvalde Shooting Vigil

Today is yet another day in America that has us grappling with a deeply traumatic incident of gun violence. A shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas has caused unspeakable grief and harm, which is hard to comprehend. A vigil was held recently on the Village Green sponsored by the Falmouth Gun Safety Coalition and the Falmouth Clergy and FCTV was there.

FCTV Annual Meeting of Members Held Online on May 26

Falmouth Community Television (FCTV) held its Annual Meeting of Members by way of Zoom teleconference on Thursday, May 26th.

FCTV Executive Director/CEO Debra Rogers welcomed the attending members, thanking the FCTV staff, Board of Directors, and Advisory Council, then made a special note of gratitude to FCTV’s two outgoing board members, Treasurer Michael Finegold and Secretary Michael Palmer for their years of service to the nonprofit community media center.

FCTV Exclusive: Be The Hope Tree Planting

In recognition of Arbor Day, people are making a big difference on the Cape by planting native trees. Working with 30 organizations, the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Falmouth coordinated the planting of fifteen hundred native white oak saplings. We stopped by one Falmouth location to hear more about how the trees planted there will be helping our environment.

FCTV Exclusive: The Team Chase Foundation

On February 15, 2020, at the age of 23 years old, Chase Soares of Falmouth passed away tragically in an auto accident. To honor Chase, his family and friends have created The Team Chase Foundation to provide funding for youth athletic and educational initiatives for underserved communities. Sunday, the 15th, Chase’s birthday, Team Chase held its foundation launch in Falmouth Heights. FCTV was there to learn more about Chase and the foundation that now bears his name.
