The Front Steps Project in Falmouth was a local effort conceived by Falmouth realtor Annie Hart Cool and photographer Lee Geishecker, where in exchange for a five-minute portrait session of people at a safe distance, the subjects would agree to a donation to a local charity. The fruits of their labor are now part of an exhibition at Highfield Hall and Gardens. Here’s Troy’s Take.
In 1944, a young girl from Vermont decided to serve her country during World War Two by joining the Navy WAVES. A division of the US Navy created to free up men for sea duty, WAVES is an acronym for “Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service.” On January 21st Alice Melevan celebrated her 100th birthday, and FCTV was there for the festivities at Atria Woodbriar.

Falmouth Annual Fall Town Meeting 2020 Continuation January 25, 2020: The Annual Fall 2020 Town Meeting Continuation was the first all-virtual Town Meeting in Falmouth history. Nine articles were featured on the warrant and only the first three were discussed while the remaining passed in a blanket vote early on in the meeting. Town Meeting Members approved $5,802,500 in capital projects including $870,000 for a new fire engine and $100,000, marked for a reserve fire rescue vehicle to service West Falmouth.
