December 2009: “Great Expectations” - Paintings by Mindy and Ronni Reasonover

An exhibition of oil paintings by Falmouth husband-and-wife team, Mindy and Ronni Reasonover was on display at the Maser Gallery at FCTV Community Television, 310 Dillingham Avenue, from November 30 through December 30, 2008.

The Reasonovers share a home studio gallery in East Falmouth where Mindy focuses on the beauty around her; she is continually stimulated by the Cape’s never ending “breath taking” subjects. An avid perennial gardener, Ms. Reasonover is inspired by surrounding flora, and influenced by distinguished architecture, both of which are evident in her work.

Husband Ron had a passion to create art as high school student. He continued his art studies at college but became sidetracked shortly afterwards to play professional baseball with various teams, including Detroit, Philadelphia and Atlanta. After chasing fly balls, he took up painting for pure pleasure, then “began creating art” for income when he and his wife opened an art gallery in Provincetown in 2005. His subjects show the Cape Cod light reflecting on its Cape style architecture.

“All I feel is a love when I paint. It’s like holding hands with someone. I create a relationship with a canvas like I do with a person,” he said.
Mr. Reasonover also designs and builds custom furniture constructed from recycled materials, such as old porch posts, shutters, doors, and windows, as well as conventional items - beds, tables and vanities.

As self-employed entrepreneurs, the Reasonvers created “Color Your World” a design, faux finishing, and mural painting business they own and manage. Together they also create custom furniture and built-ins in homes and businesses.

Falmouth clients include the restaurant La Cucina Sul Mare, Hot Locks Salon and Spa, and Smitty’s Spiral Cone among others. And recently they have just completed murals at the Morse Pond Playground and “Monet’s Garden” at the Wing School in Sandwich.

The Reasonover’s artworks have been exhibited in Newport, Nantucket, Marblehead, Mashpee and Falmouth galleries over the years.
